My! What a christmas youre having Val, im sorry that youre christmas is
wracked by such ill winds. I almost feel ashamed for having this cool
sunny calm weather here! Its too bad that the Cupressus of yours split
in half, now you know why they rarely reach above twenty feet along the
coast. It happens here too, i remember one time we had a huge storm
come through. Ripped the shingles off of roofs, Eucalypts ripped apart,
and a very bic C. macrocarpus fell onto someones house.
My area for some reason escaped the strong wind storm Santa Cruz to
the north had a few days ago. Trees fell all over the Santa Cruz
Mountains. In LA they had sub Zero wind chill and Santa Ana winds,
which were fairly strong as well.
I hope that Cupressus of yours grows back. In Monterey they trimmed a
few of most of their branches except the main ones and new sprouts
sprung up all over the main branches.
