Katherine: Care to explain 'Cloud-Cover' to an ignorant Limey? Some
sort of manufactured/patented spray, I gather? Against cold? Its
constituents are...? It works by...? Are there equivalents under other
brand names? You'll gather I'm interested in the possibilities of
using such stuff in my own UK garden.
Couple of nights in the last week, here by the Solway Firth on the
English/Scots border, with a crisping of the ground - hills a few
miles inland white over - but no significant damage. The leaves of a
few ginger lilies went splat and some of the more tender salvias have
lost leaves but that's about it: I don't see anything dead. Yet. Of
course by our standards this hardly counts as winter. So far.
Still seems an appropriate weather in which to send seasonal greetings
to everyone on the list - and thanks for all the good-natured and
good-mannered fun and information it provides.
