Dear Janet,
Your diatribe about "corporate greed" is amusing and vacuous. A corporation is an
abstract form of business organization and cannot have any motive or emotion
ascribed to it. The agribusiness people I know are industrious, responsible, and
caring people. They provide you and I with nutritious, varied, and ample food and
fiber. You should be thankful.
Do not feel that you can hide behind the "organic community" as an appeal to
authority to substantiate your facts or reasoning. The organic community has more
than its share of kooks and nuts. Some of my best friends (not kooks and nuts)
use IPM, composting, and manure fertilizer in their gardening activity. I
shrudder to think what you might be "teaching" anyone who listens to you.
