Thanks, Sean, for the Carpenteria c. info.

I planted a 1 gallon-size plant a year ago and it hasn't grown much.
Maybe it doesn't grow quickly. I think I have all the right cultural
conditions, except maybe a little too much shade. Maybe it's competing
with too many bearded irises, which are in the same border.
