I have two Lilium pardalinum in my garden in Alameda (San Francisco Bay
area)..  The happiest of the two is about 3 feet away from my pond, which
overflows 3 times per day, so it's on the edge of swampy ground.  It gets full
sun until about 1:00 PM and then is under the high shade of a Bay tree. The
other is not adjacent to regular water, and is struggling a bit, even though I
soak it about once a week.  Neither are in pots.
