On the advice of Moira, Dave Poole, and fellow medit-planters, I have been
attempting to
given my Sprekelias a dry winter rest. I haven't watered them since
mid-October, and their summer growth has died back. Problem is, when I
checked them yesterday, they were still somewhat damp and were resprouting.
While it's possible some well-meaning soul watered them, things just don't
dry out in this climate in winter, even in the cold greenhouse where they
are. The only way to really dry something out reasonably quickly is to
move it to a heated place. Should I do that? Is coolness in winter
important? Still hoping to flower these beautiful plants...
TIA,
