It's still commonly found in the "lawns" of older residences in my city
(our subdivision was built in the 60's). There's a very large field
(probably the size of a football field) at my school that has a lot of
kikuyu stolons left (it was a former army base). Alot of it died off when
the base closed because it wasnt getting water, but it's still commonly
found here. I still keep finding errant patches in my yard, and as i said,
the back yard is completeley taken over by it, various weedy european
annual grasses, and iceplant (purple and yellow flowering forms).
