A whole lot late on the reply but, you know, ...
better late than never.
A friend of mine who used to work as head propagater
at Kirstenbosch had this to say:
"We did tip cuttings of this species,treated the same
way if you were rooting proteaceae and seed was done
with the best results from fresh seed and given the
smoke treatment.Seed should be sown in individual
containers as they do not respond well to being
pricked out from seed beds."
