Hi David
I also "deface" most of my favourite garden books with annotations. I
wonder, though, if they eventually come up for sale will this enhance or
detract from their value. Perhaps enhancement would depend on how famous
we had become before relinquishing them (???) Just imagine if you found
a book annotated by someone like Darwin for instance.
