I agree this name is most likely a distortion, but what of I cannot even
begin to guess. Shrubs with daisy-like flowers, sometimes white, are
common in the floras of all the southern continents and also in NZ. A
lot belong to Senechio and others to related species such as
Brachyglottis, and this is where you might find your plant illustrated.
If you could somehow provide a picture, perhaps we could be more
helpful, but at last I think it would need a description of the foliage
and growth habit to even begin to track it down.
