Hi Wim

So glad Cathy was able to help you. As I explained I am not familiar
with Monatanoa which is too tender for my district, though growing in
warmer parts of this country. They sound really desirable plants if one
can provide the necessary warmth.

The name on the label sure was garbled wasn't it? I can't imagine how
they arrived at it. By the way, it really helps when seeking a name for
a plant if you give any details you can about foliage and growth habit.
White daisies, for instance, are a feature of so many shrubs that on
their own they are not much help.

And Carolyn, thanks for your mouthwatering description and generous
offer of a start.

Unfortunately casual importation of plant material is a definite no-no
in NZ and without special permission to import and a (probabaly
expensive) phytosanitary certificate it would simply be confiscated. In
any case as I explained previously at least three species of Montanoa
are apparently already available here, but alas to tender for me to grow
in my relatively cool valley among the hills..

Nice to have the puzzle solved anyway
