I received this inquiry form the web site which is clearly for someone in Greece or Cyprus to puzzle out (I do not have enough information to go on myself, though I'd love to know what the identity of this plant may be!)

Hello,
I have a friend from Greece - actually Cyprus - who recently gave me some seeds to grow in my vegetable/herb garden. He doesn't know the English name for them, only Greek. He said the nearest direct translation to English would be "trimithy". It supposedly is a bush - somewhat like a bluberry bush - that grows near streams in the hills of Cyprus. The spice/herb seed capsule he gave be looks like a dried berry. It is greenish, hard, wrinkly, about the size and general shape of a caper. Do you have any suggestions on what this might be? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you, Shari
