I work at a church in the historic district of Folsom, and I am fairly sure that there is a huge mass of this first plant you're looking for just kitty-cornered from us.  I notice it all the time because it is such a huge mass, and because I have always inwardly remarked how people don't really grow this anymore.  I will check it more closely today, and if you don't find any other sources, perhaps I can bring you some to the next event - are you doing the wildflower walk?
