Re: What's eating my fig?

Rabbits, deer, goats - and probably other wild or semi-wild animals - will gnaw the bark off trees in hard winters.

The damage described sounds like deer damage,

Hi Nan,

Do you have squirrels? Squirrels managed to
kill my sisters Hoheria tree by
eating the bark. She lives in Berkeley.

Cathy

Some critter is eating the bark on my little
fig tree. It has to be
a climber as the bark is missing from about
10" off the ground all
the way up to a couple of feet off the
ground.

Any ideas what's eating my fig?
