I don't know about the PNW but the good folks at the UCSC BG have kept records on Proteaceae for a long time and I got some info from them some years ago regarding the hardiest of them. I'm thinking, though, that hardiest may not be the critical characteristic. Adaptability to wet soil and air my be more to ask for.
