Re: Plants along beaches

Phil,
       you know how noxious some of the weeds along coastal california are as
well as i do. the most nocious beach weed is most certainly the dreaded ice
plant.I think only natives limits ones ability to beautify their property.
Second not all properties have natives on them, some have been lived in so
long that the natives that were once there no longer grow there. Some even
find natives ugly. I believe a garden can be balanced with both natives and
imported plants as long as the imports arent invasive. I see Chasmanthe
aetheopica all over the highways and i think its nice but it does seed
freely.  My grandparents had some but they pulled it out when it started to
spread all over the place.
