someone has been doing some re-naming.
If you could give me details about the producer of the catalogue, I may

Great! I'm glad to hear from a New Zealander on this one. Moira, here is
the information on the seed catalogue. It is put out by:
Peter B. Dow & Company
P. O. Box 696
Gisborne 3815
New Zealand
The Internet address is seeds@dow.co.nz as I don't know how far you are
from Gisborne - both on North Island, right? Under their General Seed List
they have Feijoa sellowiana, Feijoa magnifica and Feijoa triumph. I have no
idea about the last two but I suspect they are from a more tropical part of
Brazil than F. sellowiana. None of my books describe them.
Named selected seedlings of F. sellowiana are common enough - there are
plenty of named varieies. In this part of the world 'Coolidge', 'Nazemetz'
are good varieties because they are self-fertile. 'Coolidge' has very large
fruit.
Dow's seeds are not cheap, by the way, but they have an incredible range of
seeds listed. I have ordered from them before and they sent good material,
so no problem there. Maybe you could find out about these Feijoas? I even
have their phone number. It is +64 6 867 3408. Good luck.
