Hi,
I have read that the Victorians used cannabis quite a
bit as a garden ornamental, that hybrids were developed
and distributed by nurserymen, including variegated forms.
Wonder what ever happened to all those old varieties.
About poppies: our area suffered through the opium poppy
hysteria a few years ago. Because a few immigrants were
found with this plant in their medicinal gardens, people
were calling the cops in to root out practically every
flower up and down the street. It only ended when the
police more or less begged people to quit calling them
about this.
I planted some Oriental poppies in my front yard this year.
Will I be responsible for starting this all up again?
