My wife has a BS and MS in biology. Somewhere along the way a story
was told by one of the profs about a couple guys that were feuding. One of
them found something new. I believe it was a crane fly. He decided to name
it after his enemy, a man by the name of Hotchkiss. And so he proposed
Tipula hotchkissianus. Needless to say the name was rejected, but he got
his zinger in becaue of course the story went the rounds!!!
