She was a poor girl indeed.
If memory serves, Lasthenia was the youngest of the celebrated Asthenia
sisters, her elder siblings being Myasthenia, Neurasthenia, and
Thrombasthenia. Collectively they were known as the Weak Sisters.
Not familiar with the plant myself, but could it be of a delicate or less
than vigorous nature, which would account for its Greek suffix?
