No, I was not criticizing the group for discussing the vitally important
issue of racist or otherwise offensive terminology. As a gay man of
Jewish background on my fathers side, I am extremely conscious of
bigotry in language, and I applaud everyones sensitivity. But the
salient points of this discussion were made a while back, it seems to
me, and I feel some restraint is necessary if we are to keep the focus
of the list. And now that Ive made everybody mad at me, I will just
crawl back under my Dianthus gratianopolitanus and go to sleep till
spring.
