Hi Fiona!!! I'm from SLO!!!
We had a neat small dog without a sign of a pedigree. But he was
great. We never used pellets because we were a bit afraid with the pets
around. We tried using the other form, kind of small flakes thinking they
would not eat it. But for some reason, Mike, who was getting on in years
(around 14, I believe) took to snuffling in the dirt in the garden and we
believe he "inhaled" some of the metaldehyde. It changed him. He started
having balance problems. And then he would develop attacks where he
apparently did not recognize us and would bare his teeth as though to bite.
We believe he was having mini-strokes. We finally gave up as he was not
enjoying life anymore and had to put him down. We were afraid of what he
might do to someone else. ---Chas---
