Once, when I was brand new at gardening, I took a sample of a weed into the
local nursery. The nurseryman looked at the sample, then looked at me
sympathetically. "I'm so sorry," he said, "You have Bermuda grass." When I
asked him what I could do about it, he said, "Move!"
I'm still here, and there is is only a bit of Bermuda grass. It struggles to
take hold at my fence line, but the bindweed shows up in a number of places
in the yard. There ought to be a way to turn them into food crops.
