Re: Zantedeschia seeds?
In the yard of our village house in Crete we have a colony of
Zantedeschia which established itself in a stone watering trough which
had accumulated dirt over the years. Prior to the 90's, the yard had
been neglected for decades, and the only thing it grew was snails,
slugs, and wild plums. So I'd have to side with the snail pollinating
theory! One summer when I was trying to get a garden started, I removed
the dirt from the trough-bed (which then was, of course, dormant and
showing no signs of life) and discovered dozens of huge "potatoes"
which I relocated and started a successful bed which should be blooming
right now. I don't know where to look for seeds...never had to. I
don't really mind that they're weeds either, I enjoy their company when
so many things look dismal in winter. Karen
