My understanding is that Aeonium pseudo-tabulaeforme is a hybrid of 
garden origin.  I think Huntington Gardens had the names of the 
parents on their label but I don't remember what they were - 
definately not A. tabulaeforme which is a different plant all 
together.

We had a A.  tabulaeforme briefly - it was barely 2" in diameter and 
preceeded to rot away as soon as it rained.  I have been since told 
it requires "absolute drainage", that in habitat it grows sticking 
out of nearly vertical surfaces.  Also,  it looked quite different - 
paler in color, more delicate than A. pseudo...which is a rich green 
and easily grown.  (I am in a frost free area so do not know about 
hardiness.)
