Yes, I would definitely have replied to Deborah only, if I hadn't opened
innumerable previous messages this morning reminding me to change the
address setting. We have grown Crithmum for a number of years now and
found it much easier than its reputation suggests. Ordinary potting
compost, litre pots and watering throughout the summer with our very
alkaline water once every three days and it flowers and sets seed quite
happily. One proviso though, we have to keep it in tunnels otherwise the
deer will eat it down to the roots. This means it doesn't get the usual
British Winter drowning. I suspect in its native habitat it gets a lot
of rain fall which doesn't affect it too much because it is found on
steep cliffs.
Anthony (in Britain, where unlike Jim's part of Central Indiana, the
temperature has definitely slipped back below freezing)
