Hi folks -
From a couple of sources, I seem to be a 'clearing house' of significant succulent plant material. Various types are in need of new homes. I am not sure how (or if) I'm going to deal with this, though I hate to see such material merely thrown out - they can be so interesting in gardens!
The reason why this has befallen me is because I have long been a sucker for succulent plants, especially those that are not covered with deadly spines and do not require strange and expensive horticultural practices in order to stay alive. And people have found out about this weakness of mine! From a landscape design point of view, these plants often provide form, color, and texture unavailable some other plants. The fact that they are generally easy to grow and propagate is an extra added bonus!
So, in trying to figure this out, and to make it worth my trouble, I wonder is there are local SF Bay Areans who would be interested in accenting their landscapes with succulents (accents, ground covers, etc.) as well as some general consultation about their landscapes. I would be willing to provide consultation service at a cut rate in order to expedite the finding of homes for these plants. I spec the placement of the succulent plants available that fit into your landscape, you receive them free to install yourself (its easy!).
The location of each of these sources in mid-peninsula (Redwood City/Palo Alto) and east bay (Oakland/Berkeley), but other areas can be considered.
Not really trying to be self-serving - These sources will not deal with the 'general public' directly and I have to make this worth my time.
Let me know what you all think.
