Hi Robin, I dont have a medit climate but the roses (mostly old or heirloom
roses) are underplanted with lavenders, pinks esp the old clove pink only
once blooming but so fragrant, oreganos, artemesias, penstemons, nepeta and
aquilegias - the granny bonnet type. I usually scatter the seeds of
nicotiana alata and forgetmenots as they finish and let them infill where
