If you grow Hybrid Teas you have a real problem as they are
poor landscaping plants and they really need companions. To hide all those ugly,
prickled canes if nothing else. Just a hint about Austin roses: if you plant
three own-root ones (they are small plants from your mail-order nurseries) close
to one another, the three will hold each other up and the flowers will bloom all
the way to the ground. Putting in roses is an investment, and grouping them like
that pays off handsomely! And companion plants for them are easy! Bill
