Re: What to plant beneath camellias


I have only two young camellias but have previously had trouble with Camellia blight (if that's what turns the flowers brown).  I can't bend to clean up the fallen flowers, so every year I cover them up with a two inch mulch of pine needles.  Seems to work well.  Cathy

If there is no room around the roots, can I put any soil over the roots? Or will that suffocate them?
