Re: Plant identification?


Don't know which geranium the first one is, Richard, but the second one looks like Geranium  maderense, Madeira cranesbill. 

This biennial stands on tall stems with the color and thickness of red licorice.  The plant topped in big, green leaves.  The bloom is an inflorescence of small, pink flowers that, together, look like a big, pink hydrangea bloom.  The plant can grow two to three feet tall, and the overall effect is something you'd see in a Dr. Seuss book.  

Reseeds freely and does really well in dry shade.
