As Heather said previously the Plane trees in Greece provide welcome shade ( I remember them fondly on our many trips to the Greek Islands when we were young and mad, sitting in their shade at the local Taverna eating a Feta salad with a very chilled Retsina watching the world go by. They are part of Greek culture. My observation of Plane trees is that they appear to perform better in dry very typical mediterranean climates than they do in colder, somewhat wetter inland areas of the Mediterranean basin, where they can become a problem. However in London where I spent some 35 years on the drier east coast of the UK they perform well and are a wonderful street tree around the many beautiful squares. As a working girl in London getting off the tube and seeing those magnificent trees with their colourful bark, never failed to amaze me.

Hi Marianne,
Looks like D. hassei. Does it get pink tips when in full sun? Looks like it
might be shaded in the photo.
Hope you are getting sufficient winter rains. Here in California, it's quite
dry and cutbacks are being mandated as a first step now for conservation.
Cheers,
Bracey

Could anyone please identify this succulent for me? It's in my rockery and
I forgot its name.
