I will list some sources of salvia seed for those who may be interested.
Personally I am not interested in swapping salvia seed except with
professionals as it is very time consuming.
Christine Yeo is the British salvia collector and offers seed - Pleasant
View Nursery, Two Mile Oak, Nr. Denbury, Newton Abbot, Devon, TQ12 6DG,
England. Christine has self published one small book dealing with 100
salvias and has a second book due out northern hemisphere spring 97 dealing
with another 100 species. No email.
B & T World Seeds, Whitnell House, Whitnell, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA5 1JE,
UK, email<100600.2351@CompuServe.COM> large range
Virginia Hunt at Seedhunt, PO Box 96, Freedom, California 95019-0096, USA
has interesting salvia seed. Email <Seedhunt@aol.com>
I have also got seed from Josef Jurasek, Lamacova 861, 152 00 PRAHA 5, CZECH
but he usually only offers a few salvia.
I have just written him querying seed I got in 1994 as salvia brachyantha
which Bob Nold has clarified as being lallemantia canescens. It comes
through all seed lists as salvia brachyantha but there is a picture in
Phillips & Rix's Perennials and Bob Nold is perfectly correct.
