Yes, they are great. I also got both volumes for Christmas.

Many are common outdoor landscaping plants here . . . so much so that it
seems very strange to see them described as "greenhouse and conservatory"
plants. But it is still nice to have the books -- for the pretty pictures,
and for all the other, uncommon things that are shown.
It was mentioned in a PBS TV series ("The 3,000 Mile Garden") that Phillips
& Rix are putting together a book about annuals. There is no sign of that
book here yet. Is it available in Great Britain?
