Native dandelions?

While out in Ft. Ord ( THe Maritime Chaparral) Here and there in the
oak woodland i see these large flowered dandelions with even more
magnificent seed heads. THese im not sure if they are native. Anyone
have a clue? If they are id love to get my hands on it! THe flowers are
at least 3 inches wide on some plants and the seed heads are equally
large ( you couldnt miss it if you tried) They generally grow amongst
the Quercus agrifolias. Please tell me these are native, i could back
up growing this one by saying its native :).

Second thing has anyone besides me seen the magnificent Cob Web thistle
( sometimes called Oak thistle I THINK). If you dont know what im
talking about, this thistle has magenta flowers, less spines, and the
flowerheads * not the colorful parts) are covered in this cob web like
matting. Its generally shorter than the common weedy type thistles. To
me this one is pretty it is spiny but then again roses are too :)
