Hello
Phlomis I should have mentioned, a lot of nice attributes, did you catch
the recent post here on the collection in France? "Just Phlomis" in the
UK has a nice collection listed in the RHS Plant Finder, whose service
is likewise not available outside the EC that I'm aware of, thus my
collection of Phlomis is still very small and not terribly noteworthy. I
did succeed in obtaining several interesting specie from B&T World Seeds
& Euroseeds.
I don't have current information on sources; recently Nepeta tuberosa in
one or two blue forms has been sold as plants by Heronswood, as seed by
Seedhunt, and Plant World in the UK.
Nepeta govaniana I try often as plants, but somehow don't get along
well... I've yet to find a seed source, which gets more necessary
economically. I am wondering still if there are other yellow ones, a
recently-offered Nepeta sulphurea that I failed to get eludes me whether
it has that name for smelling like sulfur or having sulfur-yellow
flowers. (If I recall correctly, there's a database online of flora of
China that refers to Nepeta subsessilis having a yellow form, listed as
"var. lutea", I have not succeeded in finding a souce although I'd very
much like to.)
Great Gardening!
