Sean,
Not only did your wife learn 10 Latin names a day, you also learnt that
compromise is a large part of a good marriage.
And I tell you something else, once you reach my age and have planted
hundreds of plants, you yell "Thank you" to the Heavens, when you can
remember the common name ! It is funny, the amnesia descends immediately
when you hear the words, "Can you tell me the name of this plant?" but if the
ancient brain shifts a key and like a bolt of lighting the common name is
sorted out from the millions, then it is immediately followed by the latin
name rushing onto your tongue. Common names are important too and in many
instances, just like the flowers, have a unique charm!
Just you wait, Henry Higginses LOL
