I, too, find it frustrating to find plants in a garden without a label. While labeling at the UC Botanical Garden is not perfect,
I don't think you will find another garden with more complete labeling of its plants.I wasn't sure the prvious writer was being critical of UC in particular. It's pretty good at UCBot, but it would be nice if they adopted the system used at Harvard's Arnold Arboretum: EVERY tree or shrub (don't remember what they do with perenniels) has a legible uniform embossed tag on it, about eye level, with the name, common name, origin, source of collection, and accession number. It is very frustrating to be at an arboretum, and tryiing to learn about new plants, to find that the ones you are interested in are unlabeled. Unfortuneatley, all too common.
