Hi Janet --
If only seed companies *would* use phrases like "rampant thug"! I too
have been very disappointed in the flower size issue sometimes -- those
lovely flowers that turn out to be about half a centimeter in diameter, or
less -- and now that I think of it, all the examples that come to mind are
indeed from T & M, but I expect that's coincidence... What I love about T
& M, actually, has to do with the pictures too :-). I don't know anyone
else whose catalog has photos of so many unusual species (except online
sources, but it's so handy to have a hardcopy you can just grab when you
need it).
Actually I've had another problem with T & M, though, that I've wanted to
ask about, and now that the subject's up... has anyone else had germination
problems with their seeds? I grow virtually everything from seed, but I've
frequently had very poor germination rates from T & M stock (around 20% vs.
90%). I can't figure out whether this is a problem with their seed, or if
it's just that I tend to buy more-exotic species or cultivars from them...
anyone have any comments/experiences?
