Thanks to all of you who have made suggestions as to the identity of my mystery
iris... I really will have to wait until next spring to examine the flower more
closely. It may be the lutescens, but I am not sure.
Meanwhile, my little specimens are found in a prime building area (although at
present zoned as forest land) which will possibly face the bulldozer sooner or
later. Only last month the construction workers for the house across the road
dumped a river of concrete there... I am tempted to rescue a sampling of these
little fellows, although I know it is a "no-no."
