Nan:

I can't find a definition of basionym on line or in my references, but the
Greek stems should make it mean "base name".  As far as I can tell, it means
the full binomial name, including author, as defined in the original
published description. 

As far as I can tell, both forms of spelling of buddle(i,j)a are OK.
Neither choice is clearer in meaning or less awkward than the other.  I
can't infer that the rules indicate a clear choice.
