Plant ID

In my garden is what appears to be a few seedlings of
a plant i've never seen before. At first i thought it
might be a sunflower, but now, i'm sure it is not.

The plant is about a foot high (right now), with a
single stem. At the leaf axils it seems to be
branching (or at least able to). The stem is very
finely pubescent, almost velvety. The leaves are heart
shaped, about 6 inches wide by 8 inches long, and
irregularly toothed at the margins. The flowers are
solitary, and apparently a mallow relative. They are
also a bright yellow. The one that is opening isn't
fully opened and full size, so i cant tell you that.

Anyway, it's odd enough i'm going to keep it. Anyone
have any idea what it could be? I've never seen this
in anyone's yard, and suspect a bird must have carried
it in.
