Re: Best Variety of Eucalyptus or some other fast growing evergreen tree ?

Re Eucalyptus - I would look at E. ficifolia which is a wonderful
flowering gum - should be bought [if possible] in bloom because the
flowers can vary from scarlet, red, oroange-red or pink and may not come
true to colour. It is spectacular and blooms in Summer time [always
handy] - height [after some time and fully grown] 30ft or 9m. It grows
beautifully in Australia's warmer states but there are many in Tasmanian
private gardens [cool temperate] - It likes rainfall in Winter months.
