Boy, Charles, your description of how to take out a tree sounds exciting to say the least. Reminds me of when we shored up our barn last summer. It was more than two feet out of square, and leaning so bad it was ready to fall down, so we cut off a couple of posts and used a come-along to help straighten it up. Then we replaced two posts per week. Hand dug a two foot hole, filled it with concrete, set the post anchor - wait a week for the concrete footings to dry and move onto the next two - and so on - twenty two posts in all - eleven weeks of hand labor just to get the posts done. You are correct about people of certain ages only good for hearing themselves talk. I can work circles around most youngsters, but I am fast running out of steam with all the projects I have done around here - you must be really something in the garden. I will have to keep your tree description for future use.
thanksLinda
