Hi all I gotta boast for a moment. Those of you who subscribe to Pacific Horticulture magazine might like to turn to page 47 in the current issue to read my article about fires, freezes, and wildflower blooms in Southern California. These days, most newspapers and magazines are cutting back on pages or have decided that expanded captions are better than a meaty paragraph. So, to be able to write a story and make it into an actual story rather than just a string of sound bites feels almost luxurious. Kudos to editor Dick Turner and the Pac Hort board for staying that course. For those of you who don't subscribe - yet - I encourage you to consider it. Even if you don't live in North America, Pacific Horticulture is a gardener's gardening magazine - intelligent, accessible... I suspect that the content would fit or be easy to relate to from any Mediterranean climate area. And there aren't a bunch of ads that get in the way of the content!
