In Berkeley it can grown 6' in a season depending. It gets scale and white
fly, I spray with safer as often as I can remember because the leaves get
all black and ugly if I don't. In the far background it wouldn't matter. I
wash the scale off with soap and water and prune.
For leggyness you have to pinch and prune a lot--it grows fast. Just get
used to pruning off flowers because it never stops in warm
weather--sometimes all winter long here.
