Re: Ca poppies


What we did in the Watershed Program here in monterey, we would pick
the pods if they had a VERY small amount of green in the pods, put then
im paper bags and let them dry. If youre not sure about doing that, i'd
just let the plants be raggy til the pods are brown, pick them BEFORE
they open, and then cut the plants back. My poppies that showed up on
their own (quite unexpected but welcomed) are very gangly, but i see a
few seed pods. So, im going to let the pods ripen and then pick them.

BTW: I had LOTS of lupines show up this year, i forgot to go get the
seed before the seed pods opened, so next spring i should have many
many more plants.
