The only reference I have been able to find is to Pavonia hastata from
South America (no country given).
It is described as " shrub to 6' and the flower colour as "pale red to
red, spotted white.

This reference, which is quoted in the Bernard Harknesss Sweedlist
Handbook is from Hortus III.

I seem to remembr a yellow Pavonia from my East Africa past, but this
doesn't seem to have been cultivated. Probably not showy enough.
