Hi David, 
	This is very UK specific, but 'Flora Britannica' by Richard Mabey
documents traditions associated with plants that grow wild in Britain, from
pre-Christian ritual use to schoolkids' games.  And besides it's just a
great book.

	'Cultural Aspects of Trees - Tradition and Myths' by Dr Kim D.
Coder, University of Georgia covers similar ground (for trees only) from a
