Philadelphus "Natchez", shade, and garden size
Speaking of Philadelphus...
I was just given a Philadelphus "Natchez" as a birthday present this week.
Oh boy, where am I going to put this giant thing in my tiny garden [600
square FEET, not meters]?!
The key question is, how much shade can it take? I have a dry area under a
sweet gum tree, that gets SOME dappled sun, though not much. Also, is
Philadelphus susceptible to powdery mildew? That sweet gum bed is perfect
powdery mildew habitat, because of poor air circulation, so only the most
resistant plants can grow there.
I would appreciate hearing about anyone's experiences. It does seem like
it'll be a lovely plant, but it's desperate to get out of its too-tight
nursery pot at the moment!
TIA,
Susannah
